The 2023-2024 Enacted Budget includes the State’s Decarbonization Leadership Program, with NYPA providing solutions, and leading our customers towards decarbonization.
NYPA will develop decarbonization action plans for 15 of the highest opportunity New York State agency facilities.
The plans will expand upon existing efforts and guide state agencies on facility improvements to reduce carbon emissions. Each plan starts with a review of energy efficiency and opportunities for cost savings.
If implemented, these decarbonization action plans have the collective potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from state facilities by up to 30%, a significant contribution toward New York State's ambitious climate goals.
The decarbonization action plans will serve as the playbook for decarbonization planning for all customers going forward and provide other state agencies with a framework for decarbonizing their facilities.
